I hit rock bottom in early 2012. I was getting divorced after 22 years of marriage. My relationship with my kids was strained. I was miserable, mentally, physically, emotionally and financially. I couldn’t understand why everyone around me was in such a bad place when I THOUGHT my life was devoted to doing everything I could to make them happy. But NOBODY was happy and I couldn’t figure out why.

One night as I was sobbing on my bed alone I realized it wasn’t them – it was me. I had to change. If I wasn’t an example of happiness and self love how could I expect my family to be any different?

I made the decision to take action and began with improving my health and eliminating my physical self loathing. I had a coworker whose wife was a Beachbody coach he gave me some eating pointers and I almost immediately started feeling better. I cut out all processed food and drank more water, so simple and it worked great for me.

Initially, I didn’t want to talk about “those” shakes or workouts because ‘they weren’t for me’. Plus, ‘I was never ever going to work out!’ But over time, I realized that I was having trouble getting enough protein so I broke down & ordered ‘those shakes’ (Shakeology). Within a week of dedicating myself to them, I was feeling better. I had more energy, I felt better, and after 2 months I had lost 20 lbs! I’ve had Shakeology almost every day since then and I feel great! And feeling better physically also helped other areas of my life, not just improving my mental outlook. Shakeology has virtually eliminated my migraines as well.

I was happier and healthier AND my relationship with my husband was starting to show some hope. Not because of improved eating, but I believe it did come from my improved mental outlook. I think this applied to not just my marriage, but my whole family, as my kids started doing better in my eyes. Life was literally changing for the better. I was moving forward every day!

Then one day I noticed those old lady bat wings flapping , (you know what some people call triceps). Since I changed my outlook on eating & ‘those shakes’ why not change my attitude about working out?

Again, I took the first step towards working out & I asked my same coworker, who was now a Beachbody coach himself, about which exercises / routines would be great for beginners. I started with Chalene Extreme and it was the hardest initially, but most fulfilling thing I could have done. Combined with my diet, I’ve gone from wearing tight size 14 jeans to a comfortable 6 and feel stronger & have more energy than ever. I’ve also done P90x, T25, 21 Day Fix, Body Beast, Tai Cheng, Turbo Fire, P90x 3 and P90 I’m hooked! I find myself looking forward to working out now instead of dreading it! It’s an amazing 180 change from 2012! Exercise has now become an everyday part of my life and I never thought this could ever happen to me. Looking at my before/after pictures is a great motivator for me. Even my husband is working out daily now and he hasn’t worked out since Senior Year of High School!

Throughout this whole process, I found one of my soul mate trainers, Chalene Johnson. Chalene is a great motivator and a role model for what I can strive to be. Today my marriage is happier and healthier and it’s as if we are newlyweds again. My kids are all now conquering the world. (I’m sure it’s more from my attitude and how I ‘see’ them now, rather than diet or exercise, but I CAN say that this transformation has helped me see the good in more things in the world, and that HAS improved my relationship with my children). Even my daughters have completed the 3 Day Cleanse & 21 Day Fix!

I honestly credit my Coach and Beachbody for not just transforming my body but transforming my life. I want to help people feel this great, to love themselves again, and to be better wives, sisters, daughters and mothers. (yes I help men too). My passion is helping you in every step of the way.
